CHW Navigator Program
The three prongs of our community-building mission- better education, better employment, better health- intersect in this innovative education program developed by the Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance and offered at academic institutions in the Minnesota State University System. CBT is working with its partners to infuse the curriculum with real life examples and a robust internship program, and to ensure that more Minnesotans seek out this valuable career path
- CHWs are front-line agents of change who help reduce health disparities in underserved communities. As students, they earn an industry-recognized certificate that includes 16 college credits, giving them knowledge to help others navigate complex health care systems, in order to lead healthy lives.
- The Community Health Worker Navigator Program is offered across Minnesota state universities.
- The first cohort of 20 CHW students in Project North Star will be identified from underserved communities through partnership with Com- munity Based Organizations and some of Minnesota’s leading health care providers and corporations.
