Why Better Education, Better Jobs, Better Health?
Statistics show education, employment, and health outcomes have made nominal improvements at best, for people in underserved communities, over the last 20-30-40 years. CBT, with your help, is committed to changing that.
- Schools with 90 percent or more students of color spend $733 less per student per year than schools with 90 percent or more white students.1
- In 2019, the jobless rate for Black Americans was 6.1 percent, compared to 3.3 percent for Whites. 2
- Despite spending more than any other country on health care, the U.S. ranks below other advanced countries in health and life expectancy, and there are wide disparities in health by race, ethnicity, and income. 3
- White people get 72% of healthcare dollars, but make up only 61% of the U.S. population (2002-2016).4
- If Black American physician numbers continue to grow at the current pace, it would take 1,000 years to be equal to the percent of Black Americans in the U.S. population.5
